Windows Desktop App

Download SmartCues for Windows

The same live meeting tracker, with on-device transcription and a control panel that sits over your call. No bot joins the meeting.

Private by Default

What the desktop app does the moment you install it, before you change a single setting.

Transcribed on your computer

The speech model runs on your own machine. Your call is turned into text without the audio going anywhere.

Recorded on your computer

The audio is saved to a folder on your computer, not uploaded. It is deleted after 30 days, or whenever you choose.

Only the text reaches your account

The words, the lists and the summary are kept in your SmartCues account so they follow you across devices, for as long as you set.

You are in charge of each one. For the audio, the transcript and the summary, choose on this computer, in your account or never keep it. Whatever you pick, you can still save the summary, the transcript or the recording by hand when the call ends.

Install in Three Steps

About a minute, and no IT ticket.

  1. Step 1: Download the installer

Choose Download for Windows. It is one file, SmartCues-Setup.exe, and it is always the latest version.

  2. Step 2: Run it

Double-click the file. It installs for your Windows account only and does not need administrator rights.

  3. Step 3: Open SmartCues and sign in

SmartCues starts in the system tray. Open it from there and sign in with Google or Microsoft.

What to expect the first time

  • SmartCues starts in the system tray, next to the clock, and a floating control panel is there when you start a call.
  • It captures your system audio and your microphone, so it works alongside Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or a phone call. No bot joins the call.
  • Before a call is transcribed it asks you to tell the other participants, and records how you did.
  • SmartCues transcribes on your computer. It downloads a speech model the first time you use it, about 670 MB, and until then a call is transcribed by a cloud provider. With the model, audio never leaves your computer.
  • The recording of each call is saved on your computer too, and deleted after 30 days unless you change that. Nothing is uploaded.
  • The first time you open the app it asks where you want your audio, transcripts and summaries kept: on this computer, in your account, or never. You can change it any time in Settings.
  • Updates download in the background and install when you quit the app.

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
  • No administrator rights needed
  • About 670 MB of disk space for the speech model (more if you download another), and about 230 MB per hour of call for the recording

Uninstall

Open Windows Settings, Apps, find SmartCues and choose Uninstall.

Verify your download

Check the signature

The installer is signed by a verified publisher. In File Explorer, right-click the file, choose Properties, open the Digital Signatures tab and check that the signer matches and the signature is OK. Or in PowerShell:

Get-AuthenticodeSignature .\SmartCues-Setup.exe | Format-List Status, SignerCertificate

Status should read Valid. If the file has no signature, or the status is anything else, do not run it.

Check the SHA-256 hash

The current hash is shown here once the release details have loaded.

Get-FileHash .\SmartCues-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Use the name of the file you downloaded if it differs. The hash it prints should match exactly.

Privacy

By default, call audio is transcribed and recorded on your computer and never uploaded. It never passes through SmartCues servers while a call runs, and it is stored in your account only if you choose that. If you pick a cloud transcription provider, audio streams from your computer straight to it. Customer content is never used to train AI models. Read the privacy policy.

Not on Windows?

There is no Mac or Linux app yet. SmartCues works in any modern browser at app.smartcues.ai, with the same live lists, summary and follow-up email.
